How to Play Fan Tan
Fan Tan, or fancy Fan Tan, is a renowned bet game played by gamblers that was popular throughout China. It's basically a form of gambling played with luck and is similar to blackjack. Basically, it involves players in a circle. They spin the deck and flip it over cards, hoping that one card will come up. "Fan "fan" is a kind of card that is exactly what is expected to come up.
The person who has the lowest number of cards is the winner in all instances. It is one of the games played by collectors. The basis of the game is the sevens, which are the lucky numbers of the Chinese calendar. Fan Tan is taken from the Chinese characters that represent seven. An alternative to the fan Tan game, the player buys chips and then passes the chips to another player after every five rounds.
This game is known under different names in different countries. The game is known as Seven-Card Stud in England. In America it is called seven-card poker, joker poker or joker poker. You can call it Fan Tan, Jokers Tan or whatever other names you want to use.
Every player can have fifty-two cards. Twenty-two of these are numerically numbered. There are three types of suits, namely diamonds, hearts and clubs. At the beginning of the game, every player gets two face-down cards, the next player receives five cards, face-up while the rest of the cards are shuffled round on the table in front of those who have the last card.
It is the object of the game for players with the highest number of cards to become the first to have all of the cards or to be the first one to earn the fan-tan. The fan-tan is awarded to the player who is second, in turn, the first player has to hand over their cards to person following. Each player must then take their cards out of the decks with their faces down, and swap direction. In other words, the second player has to pass their cards over to the one who received the cards. One player who received their card must transfer it to the one that got the card. When the final card has been played and the fan-tan has been announced, the player with the most cards at the final game will win.
The game was first developed in Egypt. The game was adapted in Asia where sevens were used instead of the traditional diamonds and hearts. Many experts believe that the origin of this game might have been derived from an earlier game known as Tan Ghi, or Tan Gee located in Singapore. There is however no evidence to support the theory.
It's better to sit together in a circle when you wish to play. This will allow players to look at every seven across the table. Sevens must be dealt as the player is dealt in a single order. If you have dealt more than sevens, the game will be shortened. It will end when there are more than seven cards. But, a lesser number of players are able to play the game so the game continues as long as they've the entire deck. First player to get five cards of a different suit, after which any other player gets to take a turn.
